Stephanie Duquette

Bio:

I write horror for readers who like their scares with a side of craft. My background includes print and broadcast journalism before I traded the newsroom for an MFA and a classroom. These days I teach high school AP Language and Composition, advise the yearbook staff, and somehow find time to write fiction about the dark things that live in quiet places.

I live on a few acres with horses, dogs, and an ever-expanding to-do list. The horses are better behaved than the dogs. The dogs are better behaved than the manuscript drafts.

Projects:

I'm currently revising and querying across three age categories — middle grade, young adult, and adult — all horror, all with their own particular flavor of wrong.

Freelance:

I'm available for freelance and contract work. I've written for broadcast, managed communications for public-facing organizations, and spent years helping teenagers argue a thesis under pressure — which turns out to be excellent training for almost everything.
